vivo X30 is coming next month with an Exynos 980 Chipset

At a recent joint press conference with Samsung in China, Vivo announced that the X30 will arrive in December with Exynos 980 SoC and support for 5G.

The Exynos 980 SoC was unveiled in early September and it is the world's first mid-range chipset with an integrated 5G modem. It supports dual-mode 5G and promises download speeds of up to 2.55Gbps. And, with 4G and 5G downlinks combined, it can reach speeds of up to 3.55Gbps.



The Exynos 980 SoC is built on the 8nm FinFET process and consists of two Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.8GHz.

Additionally, the chipset comes with the Mali-G76 MP5 GPU to handle graphically intensive tasks like gaming and photo and video editing.


vivo didn't provide any other specifications of the X30, but rumour has it that it will boast a 6.5" AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate which is a big bonus as it is now a standard this 2019. It is revealed that it will come with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and will pack a 4,500 mAh battery with 22.5W or 30W fast charging.

For photography, the Vivo X30 will sport a 32MP secondary camera and the back will house a quad-camera setup (64MP+13MP+8MP+2MP).



vivo will also launch a Pro variant of the X30, which is rumoured to sport a 6.89" 90Hz AMOLED screen, have up to 12GB of RAM onboard, and pack a 4,500 mAh battery with 44W fast charge support.

In terms of optics, the X30 Pro will retain the 32MP selfie camera, but the quad-camera setup on the back will be a combination of a 60MP, 12MP, and two 13MP units.

More details about the X30 duo should surface in the coming weeks.

Updated Google Contacts app makes it easier to get rid of duplicates

Google is pushing out an updated version of its contacts management app, bringing some of the features available in the web version to the Android app. The v 1.5 update reorganizes the user interface of Google Contacts. Instead of the two tabs – all and favorites – the app now just displays your entire contact list, with a sidebar menu available via the hamburger button on the left. Opening that up reveals a new section for managing duplicate contacts. That’s a feature that was present on the web app of Contacts , but the process was more convoluted on the Android app. You can now also add labels to your contacts, making it easy to organize large contact lists based on groups, for things like family, work, or school. LG showcases new rollable 65” OLED display

LG Display used CES 2018 in Las Vegas to officially unveil its new OLED displays - one of them being a 65-inch 4K flexible screen that can be rolled like a newspaper. The other is an 88” 8K OLED panel that we told you about last week. The flexibility of the 65” OLED display makes it easier to transport or store in the corner. Its small size allows for better space utilization, meaning you can take the TV anytime, anywhere and “enjoy bright, high-resolution content”. LG Display will also showcase its latest upgrades of the IPS technology.
