LG G6 was one of the showstoppers at MWC in Barcelona. With its 79% screen-to-body ratio, slick design and 18:9 Full Vision display surely got everyone talking. Even if it doesn’t have the Snapdragon 835 and had to play it safe with the 821 version, the LG G6 still is an excellent smartphone to consider buying. And now we know how much it will cost in Europe.

The Motorola Moto G5 is scheduled to become available later this month but is already listed in popular UK retailer John Lewis's online store for £169.95. The phone is out of stock at the moment so you can think of the listing as more of a pre-order. The price is for a Fine Gold or Lunar Gray Moto G5 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage and is in line with what Lenovo announced. Samsung reportedly has a new VR headset in testing that's completely untethered and operated by the new Exynos 9 chipset - that means it doesn't need a smartphone slapped on it to work. When Samsung released the Exynos 9 it stressed the new chipset is VR-ready thanks to a 20-core Mali-G71.

The LG G6, which was unveiled at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC), will be launched in Australia on March 28, a day before Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8+ are expected to be made official. The date was revealed by LG Australia. Australia is apparently going to be the second major market after South Korea to get the handset. The Korean launch is set for March 10. In Australia, the device will be available through carrier Telstra at launch.

It's not that we haven't seen real-life images of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8, but a new leak has surfaced that probably gives you the clearest view of the flagship's design. The leak comes just a day after the usually reliable tipster Evan '@evleaks' Blass shared a Galaxy S8 image also showing the front of the handset. That was, however, a press render, and the model (regular S8 or S8+) the render depicted wasn't known.

NVIDIA has announced the much anticipated flagship of the GeForce series, the GTX 1080 Ti. Based on the same GP102 GPU as the Titan X (Pascal), the 1080 Ti promises to offer nearly the same gaming performance as NVIDIA's most powerful single GPU graphics card but at nearly half the price. The 1080 Ti is closer to the Titan X than it is to the 1080. It takes the GP102 GPU from the Titan X but with two of the 30 SM units disabled. Both cards have the same number of CUDA cores at 3584, same 224 texture units and the same 12 billion transistors but the 1080 Ti has 88 ROP units compared to 96 on the Titan X. However, the 1080 Ti is clocked slightly higher at 1480MHz base clock and 1582MHz boost clock speed compared to the Titan X.

Samsung has been going on and on about Project Valley for well over a year now, but, we can't really say we mind. The idea that foldable display tech is finally here and almost within end-user reach is enough to get any tech enthusiast excited, the long wait being the only real problem.

A new Android One phone has been announced. Coming from Turkish manufacturer General Mobile, the GM6 is powered by MediaTek MT6737T SoC with quad-core 1.5GHz processor, and sports a 5-inch HD display.

Xiaomi's latest flagships - the Mi Mix and the Mi Note 2 - are now getting a stable ROM version of MIUI 8.2. The new software update was announced a couple of days ago, and it's already available on quite a few devices. MIUI 8.2 improves on various areas of the popular MIUI launcher. While there is nothing major, all the improvements do matter and will make for an even better MIUI experience. China will be getting an upgraded version of the Redmi 4 - Redmi 4X - with Snapdragon 435 chip and faster LTE speeds. Today Xiaomi's may have focused the spotlight on its first homebrew chipset - the Surge S1 - and the Mi 5C, but the manufacturer had one more announcement before calling it a day. Xiaomi used its official Weibo account to introduce the Xiaomi Redmi 4X for the Chinese market.

Just as teased and teased, right on the date, Xiaomi unveiled the Surge S1 - its first in-house chipset. This is the lower-tier of the two Pinecone CPUs Xiaomi has planned and is built on a 28nm process. In comparison, the higher-end Pinecone V970 we're waiting on will be built around the efficient 10nm process.

Many companies and start-ups are at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but Xiaomi decided to go against the flow and had its own event today at the National Convention Center in Beijing. It had two major announcement - its first in-house chipset named Surge S1 and a Xiaomi Mi 5C smartphone, powered by the new processor. Xiaomi Mi 5C has 5.15” display, a 12 MP main camera and a 8 MP snapper on the front for all the selfies on Weibo. There is a fingerprint scanner on the front and you have 3 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. The battery of Mi 5C is 2860 mAh and the device comes with Android 7.1 Nougat and MIUI out of the box. This whole setup is powered by octa-core Surge S1.

Huawei has announced its newest flagship smartphones at Mobile World Congress, the Huawei P10 and the Huawei P10 Plus. The P10 features Huawei's Kirin 960 CPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage (128GB option for the P10 Plus), 8MP front camera and Leica co-branded 20MP rear camera. The P10 has a 5.1" and the P10 Plus a 5.5".  The phone comes in eight color options globally, though regional options may vary, and these colors include Ceramic White, Dazzling Blue, Dazzling Gold, Prestige Gold, Graphite Black, Mystic Silver, Rose Gold, Greenery, all in high glass, hpyer diamond-cut and sandblast finishes. GSMA has recognized the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge as the “Best Smartphone of 2016” in the “Best Mobile Handsets and Devices” category at MWC’s yearly “Global Mobile Awards”. The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge was (and still is) a wonderful device, and it got even better after the company updated the handset to Android Nougat. In fact, it really held its own, thanks in part to the Galaxy Note7 fiasco. When Note7 users needed to turn their defective devices back in, many opted to swap it out for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. After all, it had a large-enough screen, dual edge display, and the same CPU+RAM combination. The only things it was missing were an S-Pen, larger screen, and the Iris scanner.

HMD announced three Nokia Android smartphones yesterday (plus the 3310 (2017) homage of a feature phone), and we got to spend a few minutes of hands-on time with them. The folks over at fonearena have spoken with Ajey Mehta, India VP at HMD Global, revealing some details on the manufacturing and logistics. The Nokia 6, 5, and 3 will be manufactured in Foxconn's Indian facilities from the very beginning.

Two Motorola Moto devices were launched yesterday at MWC in Barcelona, and they sure look promising. The Moto G5 has a pretty decent 13 MP f/2.0 primary camera and is powered by Snapdragon 430. It also has a bigger sibling named Moto G5 Plus which is a 5.2” screen device with the power-efficient Snapdragon 625 and a 12 MP dual-pixel camera that records 4K video. India is one of the first countries to feel the Moto experience with a launch date for the Moto G5 Plus on March 15.

Oppo is attending the MWC 2017 as well but they are not announcing any new phones here. Instead, much like last year, it have come to showcase a camera technology that the company have developed for mobile use. The technology in question is a 5x Dual Camera Zoom system, which utilizes a unique periscope-style setup.

The Mobile World Congress is for all kinds of mobile devices. Some of the most exciting unveilings were the LG G6 and the Huawei P10, but there are also laptops that were launched in Barcelona and deserved our attention. Lenovo, for example, launched a new notebook - a 15” Yoga 720, 14” Flex 5, 13” Yoga 520 and 2-in-1 inexpensive device Miix 320. The most powerful laptop of all four is clearly the Yoga 720. It comes with 4K 15” display and has Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. The device is 14.3 mm thick and weighs about 1.3 kg. The 4K version offers 8 hours of battery life, but there’s also a cheaper, more durable version with FullHD screen which will last longer on a single charge.

LG sugarcoated a few controversial choices about the G6 (most notable being the Snapdragon 821 chipset) in a 'value proposition' concept that emphasizes user experience over raw specs. Well, that value proposition is set to launch at a price of KRW 899,800 in its home Korean market - a few dollars short of $800. The G6 will hit the stores on March 10. The info comes from an interview with LG Electronics mobile chief Cho Juno taken at the G6 announcement press conference and published today in Korean media.
