LG confirms India will get the V20

Image
If you are an LG fan in India, here's some good news: the company has confirmed that its upcoming LG V20 flagship smartphone will be launched in the country. The confirmation came from none other than LG India's MD Kim Ki-Wan. "I just few days ago [sic] made the decision to launch V20 [in India]," he said, adding that the plan is to launch the device in the country in a month's time. In case you aren't aware, the LG V10 - which received largely positive reviews, impressing both critics and end-users alike - was never officially made available in India. So, LG deciding to bring its successor to the country is certainly welcome news. To refresh, the LG V20 will be the first smartphone to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, and will be made official on September 6. Of course, it has already been the subject of several leaks and rumors. Source: gsmarena Via Follow us on Twitter Like our page on Facebook

Updated Google Contacts app makes it easier to get rid of duplicates

Image
Google is pushing out an updated version of its contacts management app, bringing some of the features available in the web version to the Android app. The v 1.5 update reorganizes the user interface of Google Contacts. Instead of the two tabs – all and favorites – the app now just displays your entire contact list, with a sidebar menu available via the hamburger button on the left. Opening that up reveals a new section for managing duplicate contacts. That’s a feature that was present on the web app of Contacts , but the process was more convoluted on the Android app. You can now also add labels to your contacts, making it easy to organize large contact lists based on groups, for things like family, work, or school. That’s another feature that was present on the web app and it’s now finally making the jump to the Android app, a place where it’s actually more likely to be used. Google Contacts 1.5 is currently rolling out to all users, so it should land on your

Samsung Exynos 7570 is first entry-level chipset built on 14nm FinFET

Image
Samsung's Exynos chipsets won a reputation as top performers last year, but now the company has started mass production of chipsets for the masses - the Exynos 7570 Quad. The new chipset is aimed at entry level phones as it has a quad-core processor and supports screens up to 720p. However, it is the first chipset in its class to be built on the efficient 14nm FinFET technology. This means it uses 30% less power to deliver 70% more performance over its predecessor. The processor has four Cortex-A52 cores, but there's no word on the GPU (a Mali-T8xx most likely). Anyway, the chipset supports up to 13MP + 8MP cameras that record 1080p video. On the connectivity side, there's relatively fast LTE Cat. 4 with 2 carrier aggregation, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, GPS and even FM radio. The Exynos 7570 Quad will power entry-level phones, while the mid-range has the Exynos 7870 Octa - it's also built on 14nm but has eight A53 cores, support for higher screen r
