Canon announces new EOS C200 digital cinema camera

Canon has announced the latest model in its Cinema range of video cameras, the EOS C200. The third generation Cinema EOS camera has a new 8.85 megapixel CMOS sensor along with a new Dual DIGIC DV6 image processor. It can record in the new Canon Cinema RAW Light at DCI 4K resolution in 60p/50p (10-bit) or 24p/25p/30p (12-bit). The camera is capable of recording both these formats internally to a CFast card. You can also record in MP4 up to 60p in 8-bit. The C200 also includes Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF for faster focusing with face detection.

Sony has announced the α9, the company's flagship full-frame mirrorless camera. The α9 turns everything up to eleven, featuring the absolute best of Sony in a form factory that is still smaller than a traditional full-frame DSLR.

Panasonic announces flagship GH5 Micro Four Thirds camera

After teasing it at Photokina last year, Panasonic has finally revealed all the details of its flagship Micro Four Thirds camera, the LUMIX DMC-GH5, the successor to the highly popular GH4. The GH5 has a new 20 megapixel sensor that also lacks a low-pass filter for greater detail in images. The new Venus Engine also achieves improved colors, texture, and lower noise. The camera now supports ISO values up to 25,600. The GH5 uses Panasonic's excellent DFD or Depth from Defocus technology with 225 AF points, which works along with standard contrast detection autofocus for up to 2x faster focusing than the GH4.

Canon announces PowerShot G9 X Mark II digital camera

Canon has announced a new compact digital camera, the PowerShot G9 X Mark II. The PowerShot G9 X Mark II has a 1.0-inch 20.2 megapixel CMOS sensor along with DIGIC 7 image processor. It is mated to a 28-84mm, f2.0-f4.9 3x optical zoom lens. Other features include 8.2fps burst mode, 3.0-inch touchscreen display, FullHD video capture, and built-in Wi-Fi and NFC.
