Apple announces $159 truly wireless AirPods earbuds

Image
The previously leaked Apple AirPods have been officially announced at the company's big event today. They are truly wireless earbuds, following in the footsteps of only a handful of other such products - things such as the Bragi Dash, Earin, Samsung Gear IconX, as well as the recently unveiled Jabra Elite Sport and Bragi The Headphone. Like all of those earbuds, the AirPods come with absolutely no wires, not even to connect the buds between themselves. The AirPods have Apple's new W1 chip built-in, dual optical sensors so they only play when they're in your ears, dual accelerometers (which detect touch to activate Siri when you double-tap), as well as a couple of microphones each.

Apple iPhone 7 is official with stereo speakers and water resistance

Image
Welcome the new iPhone 7, which just became official and there are lot of changes, some subtle, some major ones. Starting from the design, the iPhone 7 is now water- and dust-resistant. With an IP67 certification, it can last up to 30 minutes under a meter of water. The iPhone 7 looks almost the same as its predecessor, but with few key changes. The main among them is the new place of the antenna bands. They are now on the top and bottom edges on the back. Subjectively, this makes the iPhone 7 look a bit cleaner.

Apple iPhone 7 Plus arrives with dual cameras

Image
After months of leaks Apple just took the wraps off its iPhone 7 Plus with two cameras. Camera The dual camera setup on the back combines two sensors to work as 2x optical zoom similar to the solution offered by LG with its G5 and V20. The new cameras on the iPhone 7 Plus are one "wide" angle 28mm and a "telephoto" 56mm unit. Both have 12MP sensors and the camera can combine the two perspectives to achieve a shallow depth of field effect. The iPhone 7 Plus does this by building a depth map and isolating the background from the subjects - and what's cooler is that you can see the depth of field effect in real time before you take an image. This isn't anything new - we've seen it from Nokia, HTC, Google and other makers. The new 12MP snapper is 60% faster and 30% more efficient. Like its predecessor the camera has optical image stabilization. The lens is a new 6-element lens with a quad-LED flash to aid in low light. The 28mm came...

Image

Hands-on with the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus

Image
Lenovo has made a name for itself in the tablet market with some innovative designs that stray from the basic “rectangle with rounded corners” recipe. The new Yoga Book, with its capacitive keyboard, is a great example, but in this post we’ll be looking at another Lenovo tablet with a distinctive design, the Yoga Tab 3 Plus. Lenovo’s Yoga Tabs are tablets that stand on their own, literally. The Tab 3 Plus is no exception – like the Tab 3 Pro from 2015, this 10-inch tablet features a distinctive, asymmetrical design that incorporates a kickstand, allowing you to place it upright, for easy hands-free use.
