Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ promotional materials surface
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are undoubtedly
the most leaked flagship devices in recent history. And the leaks aren't
stopping. Over the weekend new press renders for the duo surfaced alongside
pricing information, and today Samsung itself decided to make the Bixby virtual
assistant official - even if we're still nine days away from the big S8
unveiling event.
This time around we're showing you some
leaked promotional materials for the two handsets. As you can see, nothing
depicted in these images is really new or surprising, given how many times
we've already glanced at the S8 and S8+.
The minimal bezels are there, along with the
rounded screen corners, curved edges, additional button on the left side for
Bixby, as well as the big camera and sensor array on the top (since the S8 and
S8+ will have an iris scanner like the ill-fated Galaxy Note7).
The things you'd expect to be missing from
the front of the devices based on previous leaks are all, well, still missing -
the physical Home button, the capacitive Back and Recents buttons, and the
Samsung logo.
The Galaxy S8 will have a 5.8-inch
touchscreen, while the S8+ will come with a 6.2-inch panel, both Super AMOLED
and sporting an odd 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 will
power the phones (which you get depends on market), and we're expecting to see
a 12 MP main camera with insanely high-fps video capture on the back next to
the new location of the fingerprint scanner. The smaller model is to have a
3,000 mAh battery, while the larger S8+ will boast a 3,500 mAh cell. 64GB of
storage should come as standard, along with a USB Type-C port in each device.
The handsets will run Android Nougat.
Thanks for the tip, Mikke!
