Fiat Chrysler unveils the autonomous Portal EV concept

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is set to show off an interesting and futuristic looking concept EV at CES in Las Vegas. Called the Portal, it is targeted at millennials and therefore loaded with technology. It comes with a bunch of features including facial recognition and voice biometrics.



The facial recognition feature sounds quite interesting as it allows the car to identify who exactly is sitting behind the wheel. Based on that info, the vehicle will then be able to automatically adjust a few settings including the lighting, temperature, and even music.


The Portal also comes equipped with its own wireless network, a selfie camera, a display at the back that allows passengers to access the internet, an intercom system, level 3 autonomous driving, and docking stations for tablets and smartphones.

It has a range of 250 miles on a full charge and supports DC quick charging. This means that the EV will be able to take you on a 150-mile long trip after only 15 minutes of charging. The car is quite spacious and offers 3 rows of seating. Its doors slide forward and back which gives it a more modern look and makes it easier to get in and out of the vehicle.



But keep in mind that this is a concept car, which means it won’t be heading into production anytime soon. As of now, we don’t know when or if the EV will hit the market, but hopefully, FCA will release more info regarding this topic soon.

LG showcases new rollable 65” OLED display

LG Display used CES 2018 in Las Vegas to officially unveil its new OLED displays - one of them being a 65-inch 4K flexible screen that can be rolled like a newspaper. The other is an 88” 8K OLED panel that we told you about last week. The flexibility of the 65” OLED display makes it easier to transport or store in the corner. Its small size allows for better space utilization, meaning you can take the TV anytime, anywhere and “enjoy bright, high-resolution content”. Nintendo announces 2DS XL for $150

Nintendo has dropped a new handheld console, the 2DS XL. The 2DS XL is big step up from the toast-shaped 2DS and is essentially the 3DS XL but without the 3D display. That's really all there is to be said about this. The 2DS XL includes the faster processor, C-stick and NFC reader for Amiibos from the 3DS XL but lacks the 3D display and has a more compact and lighter design. The 2DS XL will still be compatible with all the 3DS games, just that you can't play them in 3D.
