LG V20 vs LG G5 quick comparison: The V20 doesn’t need any ‘Friends’ (Video)

Flying solo to a market in desperate need of a non-exploding hero device may have been the right call for LG after the colossal G5 and Friends flop, with the V20 at least seemingly building on V10’s undeniable strengths while keeping gimmicks to a minimum.


Of course, any early comparison, in lack of rigorous testing and lengthy real-life examination, can be highly subjective and, at the end of the day, prove flat-out wrong. But the LG V20 undoubtedly improves on G5’s dubious primer paint-including construction with a legit metal back, not requiring costly accessories to deliver premium audio through a standard headphone jack.

B&O earbuds would definitely help, but even by itself, the dual screen-sporting phablet looks (or rather sounds) like a loud, sharp, background noise-reducing beast. And a video-shooting powerhouse, and a selfie pro with plenty of neat tricks up its sleeve, and a presumably longer-lasting device than both its cousin and forerunner.

Updated Google Contacts app makes it easier to get rid of duplicates

Google is pushing out an updated version of its contacts management app, bringing some of the features available in the web version to the Android app. The v 1.5 update reorganizes the user interface of Google Contacts. Instead of the two tabs – all and favorites – the app now just displays your entire contact list, with a sidebar menu available via the hamburger button on the left. Opening that up reveals a new section for managing duplicate contacts. That’s a feature that was present on the web app of Contacts , but the process was more convoluted on the Android app. You can now also add labels to your contacts, making it easy to organize large contact lists based on groups, for things like family, work, or school. That’s another feature that was present on the web app and it’s now finally making the jump to the Android app, a place where it’s actually more likely to be used. LG showcases new rollable 65” OLED display

LG Display used CES 2018 in Las Vegas to officially unveil its new OLED displays - one of them being a 65-inch 4K flexible screen that can be rolled like a newspaper. The other is an 88” 8K OLED panel that we told you about last week. The flexibility of the 65” OLED display makes it easier to transport or store in the corner. Its small size allows for better space utilization, meaning you can take the TV anytime, anywhere and “enjoy bright, high-resolution content”. LG Display will also showcase its latest upgrades of the IPS technology. The panels now have IPS nano-color, “which expresses rich colors using nanoscale high-color reproduction particles, and IPS technology, which increases the transmittance and reduces the intensity of light reflected on the panel.”, said the company in a press release.
