Starting today, the OnePlus X goes invite-free for good worldwide

One by one, the three affordable flagships initially sold through a controversial invitation-based system by Chinese smartphone startup OnePlus have ditched restrictions, catches and long waiting periods in the past months.

First, OnePlus One production was ramped up (or demand finally dwindled), so the “original flagship killer” opened online orders for all a full year after its commercial launch. Then, OnePlus 2’s turn to extend a hand to impatient prospective buyers came, approximately four months on the heels of the Snapdragon 810 beast’s debut.

And now, you can also freely purchase the diminutive, slightly lower-end OnePlus X in all the countries its makers have official e-stores set up, just over two months after the 5-incher’s global dispatch.

Priced at $250 stateside, the X tested out a one-day-a-week no-invite model since December, which apparently didn’t clog the mass-manufacturing process. Both onyx and champagne variants are available with no queues, each accommodating 16GB data internally and further supporting up to 128GB digital hoarding via a microSD card.

Don’t forget about the free shipping OnePlus now hooks you up with on bills exceeding $100, and accessories on sale up to 20 percent off list prices. For the X, you can get for instance a $35 Essentials Bundle, $55 Go Big or Go Home package, or $32 Power Up! Bundle.

If you’re only interested in the company’s highly successful universal power bank, it’s best to hurry, as seven days from now, its price will increase from $15 to $19.
