Battle lines drawn in first trailer for 'Captain America: Civil War'

The first trailer for Marvel Studio's "Captain America: Civil War" premiered Tuesday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live's YouTube Channel.

Following on from "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", Chris Evans is again putting on the stars and stripes for Civil War, this time going toe-to-toe with Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark.

Also returning are Anthony Mackie as the Falcon, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Sebastian Stan as Cap's friend Bucky Barnes, who looks to be on the run for his sins as the Winter Soldier.

The film is loosely based on the 2006 comic Civil War by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven. In the comic series, long-time teammates Captain America and Iron Man find themselves on opposite sides of the polarising Superhero Registration Act. When faced with laws forcing superheroes to register with the US Government and disclose their secret identities, Captain America rebels, pulling together whichever allies he can to wage a (wait for it) civil war against the pro-registration Iron Man and company.


Opening on Bucky holed up in a warehouse in the middle of a tense conversation with Cap and Falcon, the trailer showcases a more personal twist on the Civil War story, with Cap going to extreme lengths to protect his old friend.

The film is dealing with a much smaller roster of heroes than the comic book series, but it's still set to have an impressive host of big-screen Marvel hero making return appearances, along with a few first-timers like Black Panther.

"Captain America: Civil War" is due out in theatres May 6, 2016. It seems like early 2016 is a good time of year for erstwhile allies in punch-ups, with the other superhero slugfest "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" first gracing screens on March 25. In the mean time, check out the trailer below.

LG showcases new rollable 65” OLED display

LG Display used CES 2018 in Las Vegas to officially unveil its new OLED displays - one of them being a 65-inch 4K flexible screen that can be rolled like a newspaper. The other is an 88” 8K OLED panel that we told you about last week. The flexibility of the 65” OLED display makes it easier to transport or store in the corner. Its small size allows for better space utilization, meaning you can take the TV anytime, anywhere and “enjoy bright, high-resolution content”. LG Display will also showcase its latest upgrades of the IPS technology. Nintendo announces 2DS XL for $150

Nintendo has dropped a new handheld console, the 2DS XL. The 2DS XL is big step up from the toast-shaped 2DS and is essentially the 3DS XL but without the 3D display. That's really all there is to be said about this. The 2DS XL includes the faster processor, C-stick and NFC reader for Amiibos from the 3DS XL but lacks the 3D display and has a more compact and lighter design. The 2DS XL will still be compatible with all the 3DS games, just that you can't play them in 3D.
