No curved OLED screen for LG G6, Korean media reports

Image
It’s a little silly to talk about the cancellation of certain internal development plans for next-gen Android flagship phones when said intentions were never officially confirmed. They weren’t even rumored, or at least no such gossip made the headlines on the Western Hemisphere. Over in LG’s homeland, insiders apparently spoke of a possible dual-curved G6 to follow the suit of numerous Samsung devices already while preceding the late 2017 iPhone 8 (7s?) on the “edgy” bandwagon.

New update to Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides makes it easy to retrieve trashed files

Image
Google has pushed out a new update to the Android clients of its Docs, Sheets, and Slide apps, making it easy for users to view and retrieve deleted files. Basically, you now don't have to exit these apps to access trashed files as the update adds a new Trash option in the apps' navigation menu itself. For those who aren't aware, up until now, users had to open the Drive app to retrieve deleted files. The updated apps are now available for download from the Play Store. Snapdragon-powered Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus spotted online

Image
Back in February Lenovo introduced a full range of new affordable tablets within the Tab3 family. Given their budget-friendly nature, however, these don't exactly "pop" in terms of specs. A newly-leaked Tab3 8 Plus is said to change that soon. Like the name suggests, it is an upgraded version of the 8-inch model, likely to hit shelves shortly. The Plus model comes with a FullHD panel and 3GB of RAM, both of which upgrades over its predecessor. The cameras have been bumped to 8MP/5MP and there are more storage options now, including a 32GB and 64GB tier, both expandable through microSD. However, the most important change appears to be the chipset. Instead of the original undisclosed quad-core MediaTek one, Lenovo has now opted for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625. Besides having twice as many cores and being significantly faster, it is also made using a superior 14nm process. This is a rare sight on mid-range hardware and typically brings a major boost to ...

Over one million safe Galaxy Note7 units are already in the wild

Image
Almost one month after its official announcement regarding the global recall of all Galaxy Note7 units sold, Samsung is today revealing that its replacement program has been going quite well. In fact, over one million safe Note7 handsets have already made it into the wild, as replacements for fire-prone handsets that people had purchased. The scope of Samsung's global voluntary recall of Note7s has been estimated at around 2.5 million units, so there's still a way to go before every single Note7 out there is of the safe kind. Still, Samsung expects to have replaced 80% of the faulty units in South Korea by Saturday. After a significant portion of (or all) fire-prone phablets have been swapped for new and safe ones, Samsung will resume sales of the Note7 across the world. So far this has happened in the US, and it's going to occur in South Korea soon, as well as in Europe from October 28. Source: gsmarena Source Follow us on Twitter Like our p...
