Google has pushed out a new update to its Gboard for Android app. The update brings along several changes, including support for new languages as well as new text editing tool. Some under-the-hood improvements are included as well. To start off, the update adds 22 Indic languages - with transliteration support - including Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu and Gujarati.

One of the big problems of this smartphone age we're living in is constituted by people's propensity to use their handsets while driving a car or riding a bike. This results in distracted driving (or riding), and that can often lead to accidents, even of the fatal kind. Samsung is now working on something that it believes might help. It's called In-Traffic Reply and it's an Android app that is currently in development, and is set to become available in mid-May through the Google Play Store.

You may think that copying interesting or successful (or both) ideas from your competitors won't pan out in the end, but Instagram is a living example to the contrary. The Facebook-owned photo-focused social network has aped every Snapchat feature it was able to in the past year or so, and it's paid off. Bigtime.

Amazon has unveiled a new Alexa-powered device today, and you may want to check the date - as a matter of fact it isn't April Fools. Though you'd be hard pressed to tell that just from the product Amazon has introduced: a depth-sensing hands-free camera (with LED lighting) that judges your outfits for you. No, really. It's basically an Echo smart speaker with an added camera, that senses depth and uses computer vision for background blur. You can use the camera to snap "full length" photos of yourself (obviously), to look at later for example. You can also ask Alexa to record a short video.

836 million people use 4G in China according to local authorities. That's 10.85% more than the quarter ending in December 2016. The numbers also showed that data consumption raised by over a quarter. Chinese users today consume 1.28 GB data/monthly, which is 28% increase over Q4 2016. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China currently has the largest 4G network in the world but wants to expand. The ministry plans to add 2 million 4G base stations in rural areas by 2018.

The Galaxy S8+ is one gorgeous device and that Infinity screen plays no small part of that. However, it's also a very expensive piece so you better be careful with it - the replacement are going to be more expensive than ever.

Windows 10 Mobile might be non-existent on the global usage map, but that doesn’t stop Microsoft from updating it. The long-awaited update by Win 10 fans named Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 2 started rolling. The main accent, per Microsoft, is that anyone will be able “to create, share and experience in 3D and mixed reality, connect people faster […] and empower every gamer to be a broadcaster. With the Creators Update, Microsoft Edge will be the first browser to bring 3D to the web”. Changes could be seen across many apps and features of the OS. Microsoft Edge now has a “Snooze” option that reminds you that you have an opened tab you haven’t read in a long time and Cortana will tell you with a notification in the Action Center.
