Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ launched in India

In a press conference in New Delhi today, Samsung launched their newest flagship devices – Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ – in India. As was expected, the company has launched the devices with the octa-core Exynos 8895 processor in India instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 variant launched in the US.



The stunning Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come with new design innovations alongside cutting-edge technology that includes a revolutionary camera, the industry’s first 10nm processor, Bixby and robust Phone+ offerings. These devices will offer our consumers a gateway to a new mobile life where the power of innovation will carry them beyond barriers.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is priced at ₹57,900 ($897) while the S8+ is priced at ₹64,900 ($1004) and the smartphones are available in two color variants – Midnight Black and Maple Gold – starting from May 5. The S8+ also comes in Coral Blue color variant.
Pre-bookings start today, and all those who pre-book the devices will get a free Convertible Wireless Charger. Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ users will also get a Double Data offer on the Jio network. On a monthly recharge of ₹309, users will enjoy 448 GB of 4G data over 8 months. While the devices will be available across offline retail stores, Samsung has partnered with Flipkart to sell them online.

Updated Google Contacts app makes it easier to get rid of duplicates

Google is pushing out an updated version of its contacts management app, bringing some of the features available in the web version to the Android app. The v 1.5 update reorganizes the user interface of Google Contacts. Instead of the two tabs – all and favorites – the app now just displays your entire contact list, with a sidebar menu available via the hamburger button on the left. Opening that up reveals a new section for managing duplicate contacts. That’s a feature that was present on the web app of Contacts , but the process was more convoluted on the Android app. You can now also add labels to your contacts, making it easy to organize large contact lists based on groups, for things like family, work, or school. LG showcases new rollable 65” OLED display

LG Display used CES 2018 in Las Vegas to officially unveil its new OLED displays - one of them being a 65-inch 4K flexible screen that can be rolled like a newspaper. The other is an 88” 8K OLED panel that we told you about last week. The flexibility of the 65” OLED display makes it easier to transport or store in the corner. Its small size allows for better space utilization, meaning you can take the TV anytime, anywhere and “enjoy bright, high-resolution content”. LG Display will also showcase its latest upgrades of the IPS technology.
