HTC revenue 4% up in August

HTC has posted its financial results for August, giving us a glimpse of how the company is doing. The August revenue is up by 4% from the previous month and stands at $209.94 million. Nevertheless, this is 4.5% down compared to the same month last year.

HTC's total sales in the first 8 months of 2016 reached $1.49 billion, significantly down from the $2.19 billion for the same period of 2015. The HTC 10 is the company's strongest selling product in recent months, but it definitely feels the pressure from Samsung and Apple rivals.

Not wanting to put all of its eggs in one basket, HTC is diversifying its product range and is betting big on VR and, most recently, on fitness trackers. The latest is the UA Band smart fitness bracelet and UA Heart Rate chest strap.

The UA Band will sell for $190, whereas the UA Heart Rate will go for $80.
