Garmin Fenix Chronos is the company's latest premium wearable

Garmin has launched the new Fenix Chronos, the newest member of the company's Fenix range of smart-ish watches.



The Fenix Chronos is based on the Fenix 3 and Fenix 3 HR but with a few changes. Like the other two, Chronos has a 1.2-inch sunlight-readable Garmin Chroma Display that uses ambient light to make itself readable thereby saving on power. It also has build-in GPS and GLONASS connectivity for tracking. Like the Fenix 3 HD, Chronos also has an integrated heart rate monitor and barometric altimeter with 3-axis compass.

What's different about the Chronos is the choice of materials. It is available in three band options, leather, stainless steel, and titanium. These make the Chronos look more like a premium timepiece than a simple geeky wearable.

Unfortunately, the Chronos also loses some features of the other two watches. The battery is now 180mAh instead of 300mAh on the other two watches, with battery life dropping to one week in watch mode compared to two weeks on Fenix 3 HR and six weeks on the Fenix 3 and 13 hours in GPS training mode compared to 16 and 20 hours on the Fenix 3 and Fenix 3 HR, respectively.

The Fenix Chronos is priced at $900, $1000, and $1500 for the leather, stainless steel, and titanium options, respectively.

Updated Google Contacts app makes it easier to get rid of duplicates

Google is pushing out an updated version of its contacts management app, bringing some of the features available in the web version to the Android app. The v 1.5 update reorganizes the user interface of Google Contacts. Instead of the two tabs – all and favorites – the app now just displays your entire contact list, with a sidebar menu available via the hamburger button on the left. Opening that up reveals a new section for managing duplicate contacts. That’s a feature that was present on the web app of Contacts , but the process was more convoluted on the Android app. You can now also add labels to your contacts, making it easy to organize large contact lists based on groups, for things like family, work, or school. LG showcases new rollable 65” OLED display

LG Display used CES 2018 in Las Vegas to officially unveil its new OLED displays - one of them being a 65-inch 4K flexible screen that can be rolled like a newspaper. The other is an 88” 8K OLED panel that we told you about last week. The flexibility of the 65” OLED display makes it easier to transport or store in the corner. Its small size allows for better space utilization, meaning you can take the TV anytime, anywhere and “enjoy bright, high-resolution content”. LG Display will also showcase its latest upgrades of the IPS technology.
