Samsung Galaxy TabPro S2 reportedly planned for release ‘in the coming months’

It’s hard to get excited about the Android-powered Galaxy Tab S3 expected out at IFA later this week, considering the recent fall of traditional slates, and Samsung’s physical incapacity to substantially upgrade the Tab S2’s specs without greatly impacting retail prices.

But a second-generation Galaxy TabPro S with Windows 10 sounds like an entirely different story, the largely praised original still leaving plenty of room for improvement. The routinely trustworthy folks over at SamMobile can already “confirm” a Galaxy TabPro S2 is scheduled for a commercial debut in the “coming months.”

Unfortunately, we don’t believe the next-gen Surface Pro series-rival/cousin will be unveiled in Berlin in a matter of days ahead of a pre-holiday season launch. Instead, it makes more sense to wait for the OG to turn one, and take the wraps off the follow-up effort very early next year, at CES in Las Vegas.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed the keyboard cover will be the first thing Samsung perks up, alongside the currently optional, far-from-stellar stylus. Any sort of hardware choice would also be appreciated, though right now, we only know of a 12-inch Super AMOLED configuration with 2,160 x 1,440 pixels resolution and the “latest” Intel Core M processor in the pipeline.

Then again, four different model numbers are associated with the Galaxy TabPro S2, hinting at LTE connectivity and some other possible add-ons.
